What to Expect on Sunday Mornings

When You Arrive

There is ample parking with  several accessible parking spaces. A convenient pick-up and drop-off lane is located near the front entrance. The building is fully accessible; entrances are on the ground level with no stairs to navigate. There is an elevator to access classrooms and meeting spaces on the lower level.

The Welcome Center

Inside the front doors you will find a Welcome Center desk staffed by friendly,  knowledgeable volunteers. Please feel free to stop by to ask questions and get more information about the church.

The Worship Space

The sanctuary is a beautiful space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the woods. Seats are padded, and chairs with arms are available at the back of the worship space.

For Children

Children are welcome in worship!

In these unusual times, activities and facilities for small children are subject to change, based on health and safety considerations.

A cry room is located at the back of the worship space. The Kids Corner in this area offers toys and quiet activities for small children while allowing adults in that space to see, hear , and participate in worship.  Sunday School for  children in grades K – 12 is offered during the Sunday worship services. Students come to worship with their families and then follow a teacher to the classroom at an announced time early in the service. Children are welcome to remain in worship with you if you prefer.

What to Wear

Dressy clothes and casual attire are welcome at Church of the Dunes. Many dress up a bit, others wear jeans.  Most importantly, we hope you will feel welcome to come to worship.

During Worship

When you enter the worship space, an usher will give you a worship bulletin. Inside you will find a list of things that will happen during the worship service, along with information about things currently happening at the church. You can use the bulletin to follow the order of worship. In addition, many of the prayers, song words and Bible readings are projected on the brick wall at the front of the worship space.

Communion is part of worship on the first Sunday of each month. All are welcome to take communion at Church of the Dunes.

What Happens Next

There is a time for coffee and casual conversation in the Wiltse Center fellowship area on Sunday mornings. The Wiltse Center is located down the hall from the worship space.

Classes and activities at the church are open to all; feel free to attend something on Sunday morning or during the week.

On Sunday mornings, if you have any questions, please ask at the Welcome Center, an usher, or the pastor.

For information about the church or to speak with the pastor or a member of the staff, please contact the church office at (616) 842-7980.
