Ash Wednesday, March 1

Our Lenten journey begins on Wednesday, March 1, 2017:

  • 8:30 a.m. Service with imposition of ashes
  • 9:15 a.m. Breakfast (RSVP to Marion Fitch)
  • 5:30 p.m. Dinner in Social Hall
  • 6:30 p.m. Family Ash Wednesday Service with imposition of ashes (in the Wiltse Center)

Lenten Study: Plenty Good Room Begins March 7 and 8

Plenty Good RoomThis unique Bible study combines an in-depth look at Scripture, American history, and the music and lyrics of six African American spirituals.

The spirituals include: ‘Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit,” “This Lonesome Valley,” “Bow Down on Your Knees,” “Plenty Good Room,” “Ain’t Dat Good News,” and “Were You There?”  You can listen to the songs, here.

Two different study times are available:

  • Tuesday mornings, beginning March 7 – April 11 at 9:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday evenings, beginning March 8 – April 12 at 6:00 p.m.

Holy Week Schedule

Maundy Thursday, April 13

  • Service with communion at 7:00 p.m.

Good Friday, April 14

  • Family Service with Tenebrae at 7:00 p.m.

Easter Sunday, April 16

  • Services at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.
  • All are welcome, including children (nursery is also available near the sanctuary and we have a “cry room” to the left as you enter the church) and we offer a hearing loop through out the sanctuary, cry room and over-flow areas.  In addition, the service can be heard in the Ryder Lounge, adjacent to the sanctuary and cry room.
